Sunshine Sleeping

At dawn it takes me a while to adjust.

Surely the whole world is sleeping too.

Nothing happens until I'm awake.
A car doesn't whir past the window
unless I can hear it.
Leaves don't blossom or fall unless
I see it happen.
Airplanes don't cross oceans unless
I am sitting in 34E.

Nothing in this world exists unless I do.

But then I realise a whole scenery of things are happening
that I don't want, so I go back to sleep and dream about horses instead.
